Ok, Netflix is cool...

I just got finished watching Tetsuwan Birdy, a very entertaining four-ep show I never would have thought about watching if it didn't show up on Netflix when I was searching for Mitsuishi Kotono, my favorite seiyuu.
It's a body-sharing anime from 1996 starring Kotono-san as the female half, which I'm guessing had something to her getting cast as the female Maze in 1997. :) Too bad it's only four episodes; I'd have liked to see more of this. Especially for the animation: Birdy's facial expressions are precious.
Anyway, it was great having Christina up for Genericon this weekend. I didn't get to see as much "new to me" anime as I would have liked, but I did get to see the one thing I wanted to see: episodes 1-10 of Chrono Crusade. I even got Christina hooked. Now she wants to see the rest.

Yeah, the series was pretty fun, and they left things open for future development. I wonder why they didn't continue it?

How long did it take before R.O.D. became a TV series?

Who knows? The whys and wherefores of animation development are a mystery to me.

Sara, it's a dude and a chick!

Tsutomu (the dude) accidentally gets killed by Space Federation Officer Birdy Altirra Cephon (the chick). The only way to save him is to merge their bodies together. So Tsutomu winds up having to share his body with Birdy, who sometimes takes over (thus transforming him into a girl), and chases interstellar criminals.

Like I said, it reminds me a lot of Maze Megaburst Space, where Maze is a girl plopped into a fantasy land and every night she turns into a lecherous boy.

Of course, it could all just be the effect of Mitsuishi-san's voice on my judgement.

sigh... Mitsuishi Kotono...
