Wow. I can type hiragana!

Alice showed me how to input japanese text on my mac... and it's so easy, it should be criminal. I don't even have to know the proper hiragana or katakana (or kanji, for that matter): all I have to do is type the romanaization, and MacOS automagically translates for me into hiragana (for lowercase romanji) or katakana (for uppercase romanji). I can then hit the space bar to bring up a menu that lets me pick among kanji versions of what I just typed, but I could get in trouble with that unless I know what the kanji characters mean.

Wow. I love my Mac.

Pretty much all Japanese input methods are like that. Well, I dunno about Linux, but I expect it is too; I could never figure out how to get kinput2 to work.

The Triad speaks:
Ooo. *translates/recognises the Hajimemashite and Douzoyuroshiku (albeit with some slight trouble as to the zo) easily... looks to the Katakana*

Hrm. An? Aso? Complicated if you can't see where the stroke begins... Ba... Terikedesu... Desu is expected, of course... Anbaterike? Asobaterike? *slight bewilderment* (Care to compress...?) *curiosity*

*thwaps self* Looked to the N... looked down to type... looked up to the second N... and really should have realised that was a circle next to the Ha. *thwaps self again* Thank you very much.
