I was encouraged that, this afternoon, she was cleaning herself for the first time in days. But tonight, just as I was going to bed, she came out, sharpened her claws on my bedframe, laid down with me and purred while cleaning herself and letting me pet her, then jumped off, wandered over to the bowl of tuna water I'd put down this afternoon and drank the whole thing.

Now I can sleep.

Maybe she had a low-grade kidney infection or something, and she got dehydrated until she got all those fluids.... beats me. Washing is always a good sign of recovery, though.

Go Clawdia!

What's tuna water? I've never owned a cat, so the whole feline medical drama thing is new.

Still, though, I'm happy for you that your kitty is getting better.

It's the water drained from a can of tuna packed in water. All sorts of fishy goodness in it that would otherwise go down the drain, it's a treat the kitties get in direct proportion to the number of times I decide my desire for the perfect tuna sandwich (on toast, with minced onions and garlic dill pickles mixed into the salad) outweigh my concern over mercury poisoning.
